As the official start to winter is just one chilly day away I wanted to share some images from our gorgeous sunny Autumn picnic we had the pleasure in being involved in for the celebrations with Crave Newcastle as they celebrated hitting 30k followers on instagram. They decided there was no better way to say thank you to their followers than to indulge their lucky competition winners in a #picnicwithcrave.
To say the weather was perfect for a sunday picnic in the the sun would be an understatement! Newcastle really turned it on and provided a beautiful backdrop of blue skies and sparkling blue water as the picnickers perched on cushions and rugs laid out on the grass in King Edward Park and wined and dined.
It was a local affair with lots of the local foodies getting together to help Crave celebrate…The Wild Rabbit provided all the picnic grazing while the too pretty to eat sweet stuff was brought to the table by Hello Naomi and some naughty doughnuts from Doughheads, topped off with some vino from Margan wines.
Our grazing included the usual suspects like cheese boards with all the trimmings and antipasto platters with dips, chargrilled vegetables, crudites, cured meats and marinated olives, along with roasted beetroot, caramelised onion & goats cheese tartlets…keeping all the guests going over a long relaxed lunch.
With the winter chill now in the air I think it will be a little while until we can next indulge in a sunny picnic!
